Welcome to Tregernomics. My name is Adam Treger, and this is the archive page for my economics and politics blog.

I started the blog at the age of 15, when I was fascinated by economics and politics, but did not yet have the opportunity to study them at school. So, I decided to reach out to eminent people in these areas, in the hope that they would answer my questions.

The people I approached have led extraordinary lives, garnering life lessons over decades. Each one has stories to tell and views to impart. I wanted to share them online in the hope inspire young people to engage in these subjects as forces to change the world for the better.

Tregernomics launched on 14th September 2015, and there were daily interviews for the first five days to celebrate. 1st October 2020 saw a special post with an interview with former UK Prime Minister and current Foreign Secretary David Cameron.

Since its last post in 2020, a lot has changed in the world. Many Tregernomics alumni have continued to see success. Antony Blinken is now Secretary of State, while both of the sitting UK MPs I interviewed, John Redwood and Jacob Rees-Mogg, have been knighted for their exemplary service, as has Bill Browder. Peter Mandelson has recently been named the UK’s new Ambassador to the US. Tragically, we have lost some of those I had the pleasure to interview. In particular, it was a privilege to spend a few precious minutes in the company of FW de KlerkJacob Rothschild and Robin Renwick.

Below you can find the details of everyone I interviewed in chronological order, with their name, the date the interview was published, and a short biography. Alternatively, you can view a version sorted alphabetically or grouped by series here.

  1. Hi Adam

Very proud of you, can’t believe how much you have grown… What I can believe is that you would surpass the recipe creation stage of your life and move on from homemade lemonade to economics and politics. Very proud of you and hope to keep up to date on your insights into these areas.
    Go get em young man.
